Language models in the hands of the people who use them.
The dream is to give technology back to people. This project is one step towards it: it sets out to show that language models can run on hardware you own, on clean energy, instead of in big tech's data centres, so the cloud stays an option, never a dependency.
Today, delit.cc puts that idea to the test: one Mac Studio, in a solar-powered home, running the best open model it can hold and serving it to friends and family, aiming to match the cloud services or beat them. The Mac Studio was chosen for its efficiency: it runs very large models on far less power than a GPU server would need.
In the future I would also like to use old phones and PCs, reused and added to the server. In the long run, my dream is to learn how to turn anyone's old hardware into their own self-hosted services, with no programming or technical skills needed, and with ownership staying theirs.
- PrivateChats and requests are processed on this machine; encryption of stored data is on the way (roadmap). The goal is a completely private system for every user.
- No lock-inAPIs in any format and open models: your tools work here and anywhere else.
- FreeNo subscriptions, no per-token bills. Just a free service for my family and friends.
- Shaped by its usersFriends report problems and vote on the features they want: the most voted requests drive what I build next.
- Solar homeRuns in a solar-powered home; a periodic estimate of the environmental impact is coming.
What's here
Chat
A chat app like the cloud ones, with web search, but the model lives here.
Coding API
An endpoint for your coding tools and agents, in the common API formats: OpenAI and Anthropic.
Search
A private search engine that doesn't profile you.
Feedback
Report problems and vote on what comes next.
Have an account? Come in here.
One login for every service. After signing in you'll find your apps.
Where your data goes
Processed here
Chats and API requests are processed by the local model on this machine, not by a cloud company.
What leaves
Web search goes through my server: public search engines receive your query from my home address, without your address, cookies or account, and everyone's requests arrive mixed together. Nothing else goes to the cloud unless you choose it.
Agents don't read
The agents that build this project are blocked from reading your content. Encryption of stored data is on the way.
A full written promise (what is logged, for how long, who can see it) is coming. See the roadmap
Where it's heading
- now
Security
Stronger logins and clear rules for agents.
- now
This site
A real front door instead of the login page.
- next
Encrypted all the way home
Your connection stays encrypted all the way to the Mac, with no company in the middle.
What changed
- 20 Oct 2026
More memory for the model
3 GB handed back to the local model, with no loss of speed.
- Oct 2026
Feedback board
A place to report problems and vote on ideas.
- Oct 2026
One login
One account for every service, with email invites.

I have a degree in Computer Science. I built delit.cc on my own, directing a team of coding agents: I set the architecture, the rules and the priorities, and the agents write most of the code. I use it every day, together with my friends.
